Community
The most valuable thing here isn't an article or a resource. It's finding someone who already understands — without you having to explain a single thing.
A space built around your experience
Most spaces that touch on LGBTQ+ family life are built around the parents — their journey, their community, their support networks. That makes sense. But it leaves a gap.
Gayez Community is for the straight adults who grew up in those families. The ones who spent years navigating divided loyalties, identity questions, and a world that assumed everything was fine. The ones who are still figuring it out.
No explaining required. No one telling you how you should feel. Just people who lived a version of the same thing.
Honest conversations
Talk about the parts that don't fit neatly into a feel-good narrative. The complicated relationships, the grief, the exhaustion, the pride — all of it.
People who get it
Connect with others who grew up in LGBTQ+ families as straight kids. No context-setting. No explaining why it was hard. They already know.
No required conclusions
You don't have to have resolved your feelings about your upbringing. You don't have to be proud or resentful or anywhere in particular. You just have to have lived it.
Private and safe
What's shared in the community stays there. This isn't a public forum — it's a space where people can speak honestly without worrying about the outside world.
